FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about sourcing products from China, answered by our Shenzhen-based team.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

expand_more
MOQ varies by product and manufacturer. For our focus categories (fans, humidifiers, lighting), typical MOQs range from 300-1,000 units for existing models and 1,000-3,000 units for custom OEM/ODM orders. We negotiate MOQ flexibility on your behalf, especially for first orders and market testing.

How long does the sourcing process take?

expand_more
A typical sourcing project takes 4-8 weeks from initial inquiry to shipping. This includes: supplier matching (3-5 days), sampling (2-3 weeks), production (2-4 weeks depending on quantity), and shipping (1-4 weeks depending on method). Rush orders and smaller quantities can be faster.

How do you ensure product quality?

expand_more
We implement a multi-checkpoint QC process: Golden Sample approval before production starts, in-line inspections at 20% and 50% production, and a final pre-shipment AQL 2.5 inspection at 100% completion. We provide detailed photo and video QC reports for every inspection.

What are the payment terms?

expand_more
Standard payment terms are 30% deposit before production and 70% balance before shipping (T/T). For larger orders, we can negotiate letter of credit (L/C) terms. We help structure payment milestones to protect your capital throughout the process.

Can you source products outside your listed categories?

expand_more
We focus on AI-enabled hardware, connected consumer devices, and smart lifestyle products — including fans, humidifiers, and lighting where we maintain active supplier relationships. For other categories, we run a case-by-case feasibility review and only proceed when scope, compliance, and supplier readiness are realistic. Otherwise we may refer you to a trusted partner.

Do you handle shipping and customs?

expand_more
Yes. We coordinate shipping logistics including freight consolidation, customs documentation, and delivery to your warehouse, 3PL, or Amazon FBA center. We support sea freight, air freight, and express shipping worldwide.

What certifications can you help with?

expand_more
We support CE, FCC, RoHS, UL, KC, and other market-specific certifications. Our team coordinates lab testing, documentation, and certificate issuance with accredited testing laboratories in Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

How is MING Sourcing different from Alibaba?

expand_more
Alibaba is a marketplace where you browse listings and contact suppliers directly. MING Sourcing is your on-the-ground procurement team. We verify suppliers, manage sampling, conduct quality inspections, and coordinate shipping — all things you'd need to do yourself on Alibaba. We add local presence, technical expertise, and accountability that a marketplace cannot provide.

Do you offer factory visits?

expand_more
Yes. We can arrange accompanied factory visits in the Shenzhen and Pearl River Delta region. Our team provides translation, logistics, and technical support during the visit to help you evaluate suppliers firsthand.

What markets do you serve?

expand_more
We serve clients worldwide. Our current client base includes sellers and brands in South Korea, Japan, the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. We adapt shipping routes and compliance requirements to your target market.

Do you support AI hardware projects?

expand_more
Yes. We support selected AI-enabled hardware and connected consumer device projects, especially when the product concept, target users, launch channel, and budget are clear. We help with feasibility review, supplier matching, sampling, QC, packaging, and launch coordination. For complex categories such as smart glasses, robotics, medical devices, child-focused hardware, or privacy-sensitive products, we first evaluate scope, compliance, technical risk, and supplier readiness before accepting the project. How do I prototype an AI product in Shenzhen?

expand_more
Shenzhen offers unmatched prototyping capabilities for AI hardware. We coordinate the EVT (Engineering Validation Test), DVT (Design Validation Test), and PVT (Production Validation Test) stages with local engineering firms and factories. Typical timeline: 4-12 weeks from concept to working prototype depending on complexity. Read our prototyping guide.

What certifications do AI products need?

expand_more
AI hardware products typically require FCC (US), CE RED (EU), UN38.3 (lithium batteries), and RoHS/REACH (EU). Products for children also need CPSIA, ASTM F963, and COPPA compliance. We coordinate all certification testing with accredited labs in Shenzhen. Read our certification guide.
